| My name is Joe Barbosa and while operating my tool and machinery business I came across plans for a shop router table. The first RT1000 Table was constructed in 1989 when I read an article and viewed plans in "Wood Magazine" for a nice shop router table. After building and using it I decided to display it at my store outlet. I modified the plans to suit the needs from my customer feedbacks. I started off with 6 units and they sold very quickly. Building 6 units at a time decreased the cost of manufacturing. Next I decided to build 12 lowering the cost even more which enabled me to pass some of the savings onto the comsumer. In 1993 "American Woodworker" came out with their version of the Ultimate Router Table. I combined the best features of both and also some important feedback from customers into what you see today. Come the end of 1999 and the start of the internet sales we had over 2000 units sold primarily in Northern Nova Scotia. In 2000 we were up to building and selling 50 units per month. We decided at that time to give up the Machinery and Tool lines and build these full time. Sales for the RT1000 Tables have now reached over 5000. Our units are being used in Canadian and American Schools and Community Colleges. |
