Joe joe@rt1000.comAluminum Plate 9 1/4 x 11 3/4 x 3/8 Alum. Router
Insert Mounting Instructions 1) Stand your router up as it would be facing when
placed into the router table with router collet facing up. Keep in mind the locking mechanism ,switch, speed control and height
adjustment should be at easiest access. Also keep in mind the router handles some routers have to mounted diagonally.
2) Using 1/4" brass pin supplied for mounting, insert into router collet and tighten in place.
3)
Apply double-sided (carpet) tape to your base router plate. Remove screws holding the base router plate onto router.
4) Keeping your base router plate in its position on the router, drop the alum. router plate over top of the router with
the top of the router plate facing up.
5) Align ¼" pin in your router with the ¼" hole
of the brass template guide and lower plate until contact is made with the double sided tape. Both plates should now be stuck
together.
6) Plate is now ready for marking and drilling.
Marking & Drilling: 7) Determine
the front of the router plate by the location of the front starting pin hole. Select a metal cutting drill bit with same diameter
as the hole in your base router plate.
8) Using a drill press to drill the holes is preferred. A power drill may
be used instead, taking care to drill holes perpendicular to the plate. Place router plates face down on a sacrificial piece
of wood and drill holes in the same locations as the holes drilled in your base router plate. Go slowly to make a good hole
cut without burred edges.
9) Remove your base router plate. DO NOT USE it with the alum plate
10) Using
a metal-cutting countersink, countersink top face of the holes drilled into your plate. Depth of countersink should be similar
to that of your base plate. Some routers may require changing the screws to a flat head.
11) Mount plate to your
router.
